Ahead of Local Elections on May 6th we invited representatives from Labour, Greens and Liberal Democrats in Sheffield to an Asylum Rights Local Elections hustings to answer the questions “What could a city of sanctuary look like in 2021?” and “How would your party resist the hostile environment policy in Sheffield?

Audience questions included finding premises for Yorkshire Refugee Foodbank, accepting Government funding which involved sharing data on undocumented migrants and what practical steps parties would take to support people with No Recourse to Public Funds
